Is
Dietary Kosher Law New Covenant or Not?
This writing is will help you understand Dietary
Law, that is to say what is Kosher, and what is not, and how, and if it
still applies, and to whom.
We will take a look at this issue from Both Old, and New
Covenants says about Dietary Law, and why it was given.
We will also take a look a what the New Covenant says about This topic.
So let us now start where it all began
Leviticus
11:1
And
Yehovah
spoke
unto
Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
Leviticus
11:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts
which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
Leviticus
11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the
cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
Leviticus
11:4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or
of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud,
but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be
cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
Leviticus
11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not
touch; they are unclean to you.
Leviticus
11:9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath
fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them
shall ye eat.
Leviticus
11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the
rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which
is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
Leviticus
11:11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of
their flesh, but ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.
Leviticus
11:12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be
an abomination unto you.
Leviticus
11:13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among
the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle,
and the ossifrage, and the osprey,
Leviticus
11:14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
Leviticus
11:15 Every raven after his kind;
Leviticus
11:16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk
after his kind,
Leviticus
11:17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
Leviticus
11:18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier-eagle,
Leviticus
11:19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the
bat.
Leviticus
11:20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an
abomination unto you.
Leviticus
11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth
upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon
the earth;
Leviticus
11:22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the
bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the
grasshopper after his kind.
Leviticus
11:23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall
be an abomination unto you.
Leviticus
11:24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass
of them shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:25 And whosoever beareth aught of the carcass of them shall wash his
clothes, and be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:26 The carcasses of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not
cloven-footed, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one
that toucheth them shall be unclean.
Leviticus
11:27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts
that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their
carcass shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:28 And he that beareth the carcass of them shall wash his clothes,
and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things
that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise
after his kind,
Leviticus
11:30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail,
and the mole.
Leviticus
11:31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth
touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall,
it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or
skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it
must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it
shall be cleansed.
Leviticus
11:33 And every earthen
vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be
unclean; and ye shall break it.
Leviticus
11:34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh
shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel
shall be unclean.
Leviticus
11:35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcass falleth shall
be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be
broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water,
shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean.
Leviticus
11:37 And if any part of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which
is to be sown, it shall be clean.
Leviticus
11:38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their
carcass fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus
11:39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the
carcass thereof shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:40 And he that eateth of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes,
and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcass of it
shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
Leviticus
11:41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an
abomination; it shall not be eaten.
Leviticus
11:42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all
four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep
upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
Leviticus
11:43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing
that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that
ye should be defiled thereby.
Leviticus
11:44 For I am Yehovah your Elohim: ye shall therefore sanctify
yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye
defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon
the earth.
Leviticus
11:45 For I am Yehovah that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt,
to be your Elohim: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Leviticus
11:46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every
living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that
creepeth upon the earth:
Leviticus
11:47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and
between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
Yehovah's
Word is very clear as to what is clean, and unclean Deuteronomy also
explains what is clean, and unclean.
Deuteronomy
14:1
Ye
are
the children of Yehovah your Elohim: ye shall not cut
yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
Deuteronomy
14:2 For thou art a holy people unto Yehovah thy Elohim, and the
Yehovah hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above
all the nations that are upon the earth.
Deuteronomy
14:3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
Deuteronomy
14:4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and
the goat,
Deuteronomy
14:5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat,
and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
Deuteronomy
14:6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into
two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
Deuteronomy
14:7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or
of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and
the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore
they are unclean unto you.
Deuteronomy
14:8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the
cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch
their dead carcass.
Deuteronomy
14:9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have
fins and scales shall ye eat:
Deuteronomy
14:10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is
unclean unto you.
Deuteronomy
14:11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
Deuteronomy 14:12
But
these
are
they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the
ossifrage, and the osprey,
Deuteronomy
14:13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
Deuteronomy
14:14 And every raven after his kind,
Deuteronomy
14:15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk
after his kind,
Deuteronomy
14:16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
Deuteronomy
14:17 And the pelican, and the gier-eagle, and the cormorant,
Deuteronomy
14:18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and
the bat.
Deuteronomy
14:19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they
shall not be eaten.
Deuteronomy
14:20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
Deuteronomy
14:21 Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt
give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or
thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art a holy people unto
Yehovah thy Elohim. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
Deuteronomy
14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the
field bringeth forth year by year.
Deuteronomy
14:23 And thou shalt eat before Yehovah thy Elohim, in the place
which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn,
of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of
thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Yehovah thy Elohim always.
Deuteronomy
14:24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to
carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which Yehovah thy
Elohim shall choose to set his name there, when Yehovah thy Elohim hath
blessed thee:
Deuteronomy
14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in
thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall
choose:
Deuteronomy
14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth
after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for
whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Yehovah
thy Elohim, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Deuteronomy
14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake
him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
Deuteronomy
14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of
thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Deuteronomy
14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with
thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are
within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that
Yehovah thy Elohim may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which
thou doest.
Yehovah's Word is very clear as to what
is clean, and unclean.
I
have
heard
it
said that the Levitical law has been done away with. If
this is the case why would the same people teach tithing?
Clearly Yeshua teaches that the Law will NOT pass until EVERYTHING IS
COMPLETE!
That is when there will be a New Heaven, and a New earth.
Now to see if it still applies to this day.
1 John 3:4 Whosoever
committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Sin is
a transgression of the Law, and to say that there is not law you would
have to say that there is no sin, and if you believe that you only need
to take a brief look outside, and on the evening news, to realize that
sin is rampant.
Matthew
4:4
But
he
answered and said, It
is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out
of the mouth of Yehovah.
This is a
quote from...
Deuteronomy 8:3
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he
might make thee know that man
doth
not
live
by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of
the mouth of the Yehovah doth man live.
"EVERY WORD" that
proceeds out of the mouth of Yehovah is given in the Torah.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am
come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but
to fulfill.
Yeshua did
not come to do away with the law, but to place the law in our hearts.
He does this by placing his spirit in our hearts.
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven
and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the
law, till all be fulfilled.
KJV
Heaven,
and Earth has not yet passed, because Yeshua has not yet returned.
Yeshua came to complete the law about
what was written about his coming.
These things are written about him in the Old Testament.
Here it is pay attention...
Revelation
21:1 And I saw a new
heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;
and
there
was
no more sea.
This is
what Yeshua was talking about in Matthew 5:18
for the "first heaven and the first earth
were passed away"
Without the
Law / Torah we have nothing to follow for guidance, and with no law
there is only chaos.
Malachi
3:6 For I am Yehovah, I change not;
therefore
ye
sons
of Jacob are not consumed.
Sense
Yehovah does not change there is a big problem with understanding that
Yeshua did away with the law.
The ONLY
reason that Yeshua came was so that many might be saved, with the
shedding of his blood is to wash away our Sins, NOT to wash away the
law.
Hebrews
13:8 Yeshua the Messiah the same yesterday, and today, and
forever.
Yeshua does not change
either, and we are to follow Him, why would you think we would do any
differently?
Jonh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and
the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
Yehovah equates Himself with His name, with His Word, which
shows us who He is!
"I
CHANGE
NOT"
Then
the clean food laws that are very quickly figured to be done away with
have to be
understood by this
Matthew
is
ONLY
talking
about clean hands, a verse that had been added in about
"Yeshua declared all foods clean"
This is not the case in the
manuscripte form.
Mark 7:19 Because it entereth
not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught,
purging all meats?
Mark
7:19
This
is
because
it
does not enter into his heart, but into the wastbowl
purging all the foods?
Mark
7:19
because
it
does
not
enter of him into the heart, but into the belly, and into
the wastbowl goes out, purging all the foods?
The
Interlinear
Bible
by
Jay P. Green, Sr.
Yeshua does not declare that
all meats are clean.
Acts
10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I
have
never
eaten
any thing that is common or unclean.
Acts 10:15 Again a voice came to him
a second time, "What Elohim has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."
Acts 10:16 This happened three times,
and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.
Acts 10:17 Now while Peter was greatly
perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be,
behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions
for Simon's house, appeared at the gate;
Acts 10:28 And he
said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is
a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet
Elohim
has
shown
me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.
The key to
understanding this vision is that we are not to call any man common or
unclean.
Acts 11:4 But
Peter began speaking and proceeded to explain to them in orderly
sequence, saying,
Acts 11:5 "I was
in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object
coming down like a great sheet lowered by four corners from the sky;
and it came right down to me,
Acts 11:6 and
when I had fixed my gaze on it and was observing it I saw the
four-footed animals of the earth and the wild beasts and the crawling
creatures and the birds of the air.
Acts 11:7 "I also
heard a voice saying to me, 'Get up, Peter; kill and eat.'
Acts 11:8 "But I said, 'By no means, Master, for
nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.'
Acts 11:9 "But a
voice from heaven answered a second time, 'What Elohim has cleansed, no
longer consider unholy.' The gentiles we
considered unholy, and unclean just like unclean food. This vision was
used as a paralell to get Peter to understand what had been cleansed,
and that was people.
Acts 11:10 "This
happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into the sky.
Acts 11:11 "And
behold, at that moment three men appeared at the house in which we were
staying, having been sent to me from Caesarea.
Elohim has showed me that I should not
call "any man" common or unclean.
If this was a matter of making
unclean foods clean than what Yeshua said in Matthew 5:17,18 is untrue.
So we have one of three possibilities, and they are.
1. The writer of Acts Chapter 10, and 11 is a lie or
2. Messiah lied in Matthew 5:17,18 or
3. Most interpret these verses wrong!
I firmly believe that latter, because most people want to do things
their own way.
Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that
I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish
but to fulfill.
Matthew 5:18 "For truly I say to
you, until
heaven
and
earth
pass away, not the
smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is
accomplished.
Peter now
understands what this vision was all about.
It is not
about making food clean, it is about making people clean.
This is all about grafting in believers into Israel
"The Gentiles"
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in
hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry,
and commanding to abstain from meats, which Elohim hath created to be
received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
I believe that the answer is here...
"which Elohim hath
created
to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the
truth"
Now if he
had created clean foods, and then changed his mind in the New Testament
there is a problem here.
Either
The
Almighty
is
a Liar, because he says he does not change, or
Christendom has been so bent on escaping the Hebraic heritage to make
it more sell-able to the mainstream public.
By saying we are all free go do whatever you want.
I have a problem with this line of thinking, and teaching.
1 Timothy 4:4 For every creature of
Elohim is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with
thanksgiving:
1 Timothy 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of Elohim
and prayer.
Every creature is good, however
this does not mean that every creature is good for food, for even
science can prove that.
Yeshua
"sanctified" means Set apart by the (word) NOT our word, rather it is
the "Law" Teaching / Instruction aka Torah, which all most all
Christians hate.
Who can sanctify anything? There is only one who can sanctify, and that
is Yehovah!
Yehovah sanctified, and set apart what was healthy for
us long ago. Some minor research you can find that what Yehovah calls
unclean is the most unhealthy food there is. Did Yehovah not anticipate
this? Of course He did! They say they make pork without salt, but it is
still unhealthy, because it is still grease fat puke eat creature. You
can prayer over it all day, and it will still be unclean / unhealthy.
You can pray over mercury or arsenic, all day and it will still kill you
Most Christians hate the Old Covenant because they want to
escape from the law, instead of embracing it.
Either way no matter what we all will be judged according to our works.
Colossians
3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor
uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but the Messiah is
all, and in all.
We
are
grafted
into
Israel, and that means that there is NOT two sets of
laws, and two different ways of following Yeshua.
At the end of the day it's all about "faith" of interpreting the
scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered
to you at the first that which I also received: that Messiah died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, "The Scriptures"
Yeshua died for
our sins, not to make foods clean, but rather to make people clean
through His Sacrifice. Yeshua died for our sins not to set us free from
the Torah!
Yeshua said that He came to save that
which was lost, not to make everything clean so we can eat what we want
to!
Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save
that
which
was
lost.
Luke15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and
neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my
sheep which was lost.
Luke19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which
was lost.
Clearly you can now see that Yeshua did not remove the law aka Torah
nor make foods clean by His death. Saying so would be an insult to Him!
When doctors say don't eat pork
no one seems to have a problem with it, but when Yehovah's Word says so
few can accept it for what it is. Yehovah's Word says it, and that
should be final, but rather there are millions whom reject His perfect
Word.
