Our Death and Our Resurrection

This writing explains what death is from Biblical standpoint.
It will also explain how the Resurrection process will happen when Messiah returns!

It Has long been believed that when we die we go straight to Heaven, or Hell, and that is our day of Judgment.
However we shall see that this teaching does not line up with the Scriptures.
This makes no sense at all!
There is only one Judgment Day! It is known as "Judgment Day" "The Last Day" "The Eighth Day" "The Second Coming" "Rapture" All of these are one of the same,
it is...
"The day when the Messiah returns to Judge us"

1 Timothy 5:24 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

Peoples sins that go before them are being judged at this very moment, those are the people are are saved.
The people whos sins go after them are gonna be judged at the great white throne judgment.

It would be like taking a person who has been arrested and Finger printing him or her taken their picture, and doing all the paper work it takes to Book them. Then throw them in jail then take them back out on a later date, and do it all over again. This makes no sense at all!
We are judged now, and we will get our reward that we have earned in either the First Resurrection or the second Resurrection.

This teaching will also show Biblical evidence of two Resurrections of the just, and the unjust, and when, and how these two will occur.

What Happens When We Die?

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto Elohim who gave it.

spirit
Hebrew 7307
רוּח
rûach
roo'-akh
From H7306; wind; by resemblance breath, that is, a sensible (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively life, anger, unsubstantiality; by extension a region of the sky; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions): - air, anger, blast, breath, X cool, courage, mind, X quarter, X side, spirit ([-ual]), tempest, X vain, ([whirl-]) wind (-y).

Our spirit returns to Yehovah who gave it to us, from His breath of life. The breath of life.

Who causes the spirit to return to Yehovah? Answer...Yehovah...the One who gave it in the first place.
Psalms 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
Yehovah causes our spirit to return onto Him

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Master:
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight:
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Master.

Luke 23:43 And Yeshua said unto him, Verily I say unto you today, you shall be with me in paradise.

Clearly this is all in reference to the Spirit returning to Yehovah because the body is not restored until the resurrection which is at the return of the Messiah.

The Old Testament Shows That The Physical Death Is A Sleeping Process

The old Testament refers to death as being asleep! Messiah confirms this in the New Testament!

Job 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Isaiah
26:19
Let Your dead live, together with my dead body, let them arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; for Your dew is a dew of light, and let the earth give birth to the departed spirits.
(The Scriptures)

Isaiah 26:19 mirrors what Yeshua says about birth pangs...
Matthew 24:8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
NASB

Mark 13:8 "For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
NASB

Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
KJV

Matthew 25:46  And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
NKJV

What does it take to obtain eternal life?
John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the assemblies; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

1 Kings 2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
KJV

1 Kings 14:31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.
KJV

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
KJV

This means more than the physical death, we all die a physical death!

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in gehenna.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
KJV

Here it says that the soul or person that sins shall die! There is more to it than just dieing the physical death!

The New Testament confirms That The Physical Death Is a Sleeping Process

Yeshua always referred to the Physical Death as (sleep)

Mark 5:39: And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
KJV

John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Master, if he sleep, he shall do well.
John 11:13 Howbeit Yeshua spake of his death, but they thought that he had spoken of taken of rest in sleep.
KJV

(How could someone be brought back from the dead if Yehovah has already Judged them, and they went to Heaven or Hell?
Then bring them back to life would mean they would lose whatever reward they had been given!
So the idea that we die, and then that is our Judgment Day. This idea is flawed!
The physical body dies, and we sleep, and rest until the Resurrection comes! No matter what happens to the body! It can be brought back from ashes, and dust no matter how long we sleep!) IF we believe in Messiah.

John 11:23 Yeshua saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
John 11:25 Yeshua said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
KJV

2 Peter And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
KJV

(Revelation is very hard for most people to understand because they do not have the Holy Spirit living in them. They also try to figure out these parables on their own. Without doing a full in-depth study on the Bible or certain parables that are not understood easily.)

What Happens To The Body At Death?

Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
KJV

Job 19:27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
KJV

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
KJV

Act 24:15 And have hope toward Elohim, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Psalms 49:15 But Elohim will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
Selah

Hebrew 5542
סלה

selâh
seh'-law
From H5541; suspension (of music), that is, pause: - Selah.

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see Eloah:

Psalm 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
KJV

Here is it is "THAT VERY DAY HIS THOUGHTS PERISH"

Psalm 146:4 When his breath leaves him, he returns to his earth; in that very day his {previous} thoughts, plans, and purposes perish. {1 Cor 2:6}
"Amplified Bible by Zondervan"

Here it is the "Breath" is the (SPIRIT)
What is The Holy Spirit, and what is the Holy Spirit's Role?

Hebrew 7307
רוּח
rûach

This Hebrew word ruach means "spirit" is different than the Holy Spirit, because it does not possess "Yehovah's Holiness" which grants us eternal life, the spirit / breath only gives us natural life.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Elohim is everlasting life through Yeshua the Messiah our Master.

Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

"holy"
Hebrew 6944
קדשׁ
qôdesh
ko'-desh
From H6942; a sacred place or thing; rarely abstractly sanctity: - consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, (X most) holy (X day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary.

Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

The gift of Yehovah is eternal life, and anyone who's name is not found written in the Lambs Book of Life will die a second death in the lake of fire when death & hell are cast into it.
Eternal life can only be obtained by having the Holy Spirit reside in us.

2 Timothy 1:14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.
KJV

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Yeshua from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Messiah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
KJV

This verse proves that we need to have the Holy Spirit living in us to be raised to everlasting life. This verse also shows the unity of Yehovah, and the Holy Spirit, and that if you have him living in you, and you will be given eternal life to!

We must cloth ourselves in eternal righteousness!
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:45 So it is written: "The first man Adam, became a living being" the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
KJV

1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
KJV

We are not immortal! There is nothing about us that is immortal not the soul, and the spirit that does live in us belongs to Yehovah, and it goes back to Yehovah this spirit is the Holy Spirit that returns back to Yehovah!

Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in gehenna.

We are enslaved to our bodies

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of Yehovah, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
KJV

Job 14:14  If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
KJV

"Change" like at the time of the Resurrection when our bodies are changed in the twinkling of an eye.

1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(Here we see that we need to have the Holy Spirit living in us to be raised in the First Resurrection/RENEWAL! This is the only way to really live in The Messiah having the Holy Spirit living in us!)
How Many Resurrections, And The Process Of It?

Act 24:15 And have hope toward Elohim, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Here are the two resurrections...

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yeshua, and for the word of Elohim, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with the Messiah a thousand years.

This is the First Resurrection!

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
KJV

The second Resurrection "the Resurrection of the unjust" will come after Satan has been imprisoned Forever!

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of Yehovah and of Messiah, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
KJV

The First Resurrection is known as (The First Fruits)
Yeshua was the first of the first fruits

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Master himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Yehovah: and the dead in Messiah shall rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Yehovah.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
KJV

Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
KJV

(So what nations will Satan deceive? If everyone is in Heaven or Hell?
Now you begin to see the way things really are, and the way things will take place! Not the way we were raised to believe. We are raised to believe in Myth, and superstition not the Bible! It is easier to believe when you die you go to Heaven in Paradise. One Resurrection it is much nicer, and much easier to explain. This is the ways of Myth, and superstition rather than the truth from the Bible!)

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
KJV
This Shows That There Will Be A Second Death

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
KJV

These are the ones that will be found in the second death...

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
KJV

These verses prove that people will not be jumping around burning in Hell/Hades/The Lake Of Fire/ fire of Gehenna, forever! there will be a second death!
The second death is not only a physical death but also a spiritual death.

Conclusion, and Recap

When We Die

The Spirit, aka the breath of life returns to Yehovah.
Death is a sleeping process
The Body has no thoughts, plans, or conscience.

About the Resurrection Process

1st The dead that live in Messiah will be raised first.

2nd Then the Living that live in Messiah will then be raised to life.

3rd Then the dead that did not live in Messiah will be raised to eternal condemnation also known as the second death which is the lake of fire.

The dead that Live in Messiah that are raised to a new life, and the Living that Live in Messiah that are raised to a new life
Is considered "ONE RESURRECTION"

The Dead that did not Live in Messiah will be raised to life only to die a Physical, and Spiritual death.

The Ones that are Living that do not Live in Messiah will have a chance for Salvation up until the time where the enemy gets thrown into the Lake of Fire forever. When the enemy is loosed for a season he will deceive the Nations, and it will be very hard to get saved then.
The technology is here now, for the mark of the Beast! It will be imposed, and enforced on people before the First Resurrection takes place! We must be very careful not to fall into the enemy's trap!

Matthew 11:25 At that time Yeshua answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Sustainer of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
